NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS

All funds in a noninterest-bearing transaction account are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules. The term noninterest-bearing transaction account includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, money-market deposit accounts, and Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts (IOLTAs).

REMINDER – 2011-2012 REAL PROPERTY TAX BILLS

Just a reminder if we escrow for your real property taxes, please send the FULL ORIGINAL BILL to the attention of the tax department. You should receive your bills around July 1st. Please send them to us so that we may pay them promptly.

NOTE: If your property is an investment (not your principal residence), we are not required to pay the tax bills until September 30th. However, if you wish to have them paid in July, please contact us.

Seeds are in…please come to our lobby and get some free seeds. Giving out seeds to our customers is something that our chairman, Kitty Gerling, looks forward to every year. This was something she started doing many years ago and has become a nice tradition for us. Please enjoy.

FDIC Alert – Fraudulent emails

The FDIC is warning people to not open emails claiming to be from the FDIC and asking for personal information. These emails inform people that deposit insurance has been withdrawn from their account. it also asks reader to use a system called “IDVerify” to verify their account information.
